Closing Ceremonies finalize the meeting with expectations for the next. This may be as simple as a song or a hand squeeze around the circle.

Friendship circle is formed by Girl Scouts standing and clasping hands (before they reach for each other's hands, girls cross their right hand over their left). The circle represents the unbroken chain of friendship among Girl Scouts and Girl Guides all over the world.

Friendship squeeze is a hand squeeze that travels around a friendship circle from one person to another after someone starts it.

Investiture ceremonies welcome new members, girls or adults, into the Girl Scout family for the first time. New members receive their WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts) membership pin sometimes called the World Trefoil pin.  Investiture ceremonies are usually held in September or October.

Rededication ceremonies reaffirm a Girl Scout member’s belief in and commitment to the Girl Scout Promise and Law. Rededication ceremonies are usually held in September or October.

Bridging ceremonies mark a Girl Scout’s move from one program age-level to another (Daisy to Brownie, Brownie to Junior, etc.).  Bridging ceremonies are usually held in the spring or early summer.    Bridging from GSUSA

Fly-Up is a bridging ceremony for Brownie Girl Scouts who are bridging to Junior Girl Scouts. Girls receive the Girl Scout pin along with their Brownie Girl Scout wings.
