Girl
Scouts, please join us in a horseshoe circle with an open end to remind us of the Girl
Scouts and Girl Guides who complete the circle of Scouting around the world.
Thinking Day, February 22, is the birthday of both Lord and Lady Baden Powell, the
founders of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. It is
the day chosen to remember Girl Scouts and Girl Guides in every country. Today, we honor the World Trefoil. The trefoil is the symbol of Girl Scouting and Girl
Guiding around the world.
Hold up giant trefoil. - The World Trefoil
pin holds a lot of meaning.
When
you look at the Trefoil pin, the blue represents the sky we all enjoy and the gold
symbolizes the sun which shines over all of us.
The three leaves stand for the three parts of the Promise.
The stem of the Trefoil is shaped like a flame. It
represents the flame that burns in the heart of every Girl Scout, the love of humanity.
The line in the middle of the Trefoil is a compass needle, guiding our way in the world.
The two stars stand for the Promise, and the Law.
Now wed like to tell you what TREFOIL means to us.
HOLD UP LETTERS IN TURN
